hand in hand

hand in hand,

we walk down the old dirt road,

surrounded by fields of wheat,

fields of dreams,

hand in hand

you and I walk along,

with all that’s behind of us,

and all that’s ahead of us,

there’s nothing too hard for the likes of us.

we take a deep breath together,

hand in hand,

there is no tomorrow,

just today.

daisies and lilacs dance with the wind,

they let their seeds fly,

a cardinal flits to and fro,

calling to it’s mate night after night,

we stop for awhile and look,

then smile,

two for good luck,

then we kiss,

and the world takes a rest,

because there is so much energy,

so much zest,

like the cardinals,

we’re building our nest.

hand in hand,

heart in heart,

nothing on earth,

can do us part.

hand in hand,

we hold on tight,

there’s nothing wrong,

with something so right.
